Marie K. Savers, 78, of Jackson died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Jackson, daughter of Gus and Leona Wohlgemuth Wedekind. She and Bernard Lester "Bud" Savers were married Aug. 22, 1948. He died Sept. 20, 1996.
She worked briefly at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson. She was a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, and an active member in the Bethany Circle. She was formerly a 4-H leader, and was active in the local extension club.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Drum of Millersville and Kathy Curtis of Mexico, Mo.; two sisters, Gusty Koehler and Ella Skinner of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
