Marie Frances Ostendorf, 103, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born July 13, 1917, in Scott County, Missouri, to Solomon and Sophia Blattel Heisserer.
She and John H. Ostendorf were married May 31, 1961, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Before marriage, Marie worked as a waitress at Sunny Hill Restaurant for a number of years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and was a member of the Cathedral Ladies and their quilting group.
She liked working in her garden, especially with her flowers. She was a good seamstress and made a lot of her own clothing. She was also a very good cook.
Survivors include a sister, Melva Jane Kalkbrenner of Beaumont, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Paul Heisserer; and sisters, Hermina Hoeckele, Sally Hoeckele, Olivia Ostendorf, Alma Hamm, Corena Morrison and Edna Job.
Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Grade School.
