PUXICO, Mo. -- Marie Maddox, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, near Puxico.
She was born April 8, 1908, in Lakewood, Ill., daughter of Edward Stanton and Ada Virginia Cox Mitchell. She and William Harley Maddox were married Feb. 21, 1925, at Aid, Mo. He died July 24, 1973.
Maddox lived most of her life in the Dudley, Mo., and Puxico areas. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Puxico.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Maddox of Dudley, Bob Maddox of Bowie, Texas; a daughter, Eva McGowen of Puxico; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with Terry Stockman officiating. Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico.
