MATTHEWS -- Marie L. Harrelston, 84, of the Sells Rest Home in Matthews, formerly of St. Louis, died Saturday, June 29, 1996, at the home. She was born March 22, 1912, at Matthews, daughter of Connie and Ella Rainey Bibb. She and James Harrelston were married April 14, 1953, at St. Louis. He died in 1976...

MATTHEWS -- Marie L. Harrelston, 84, of the Sells Rest Home in Matthews, formerly of St. Louis, died Saturday, June 29, 1996, at the home.

She was born March 22, 1912, at Matthews, daughter of Connie and Ella Rainey Bibb. She and James Harrelston were married April 14, 1953, at St. Louis. He died in 1976.

She worked for several years as a nurse's aide and chauffeur for the Sisters of the Poor Convent and Nursing Home in St. Louis.

She also was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church at Warrenton.

Survivors include three sons, Connie Mac Sells of Bloomfield, Vernon Frohock of Bourbon and Jerry Frohock of Bridgeton; a daughter, Theda Ruth Bartolin of Louisiana, Mo.; two stepsons, James Harrelston and Gayle Harrelston, both of Warrenton; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, a sister and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel at Sikeston.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Cecil Adams will officiate, with burial in Matthews Cemetery.
