MARIE JORDAN DAVIS

THEBES, Ill. -- Marie Jordan Davis, 92, of Thebes, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 1994, at the Lebannon Nursing Home in Lebannon, Mo.

She was born June 13, 1901, at Neely's Landing, Mo., daughter of Walter G. and Maude Foster Jordan.

She married James C. Davis, Nov. 20, 1920, at Mound City, Ill. He died May 19, 1964.

Davis was a homemaker.

She was a charter member of the Beach Grove Baptist Church near Thebes, Ill. She also attended the Thebes United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcella Caldwell of Thebes, Thaleta Caldwell of Lebannon, Mo.; two sisters, Augusta Hill of Sesser, Ill., Jane Smith of Troy, Ill.; a brother, Bernard "Mickey" Jordan of Trinity, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
