JACKSON -- Marie F. Morton, 88, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 1, 1902, at Jackson, daughter of Joseph and Ida Jahn Milde. She married Linus C. Morton Dec. 25, 1924. He died Dec. 20, 1974.
Morton lived in Jackson most of her life. She and her husband had owned a dairy farm, and she also had worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone and at the former Priest Clothing Store, both in Jackson.
She was a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary, and a 60-year member of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and Lyman Stevens of Paducah, Ky., Betty and Vernon "Bud" Strack of Jackson; a brother, Joe Milde of Duneden, Fla.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Morton, in 1971, and by a sister.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethe-meyer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30.
