ULLIN, Ill. -- Funeral for Marie Anderson of Ullin will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church. The Revs. F.M. Speakman and Richard Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery at Jonesboro.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today, Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon, and at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
Anderson, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Jonesboro, daughter of Arthur and Ada Barker Lindsey. She married Vernie Clifford Anderson, who preceded her in death.
Anderson had worked at Greer's Store, was a receptionist at Smiles II Nutrition Center, and had been a correspondent for the Gazette-Democrat and Dongola Tri-County Recorder Newspapers.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was a former Pulaski County election judge.
Survivors include a daughter, LaVerne Miller of Ullin; a sister, Bernice Obert of Wood River; two brothers, Arthur Lindsey of Wood River, Claude Lindsey of Jerseyville; three grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by three sons, two sisters, and two brothers.
