KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Marian Louise Walker, 72, of Kansas City entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022.
She entered this world Nov. 25, 1949, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Marian was the daughter of Nig and Louella Lewis.
Marian was an honest, God-fearing woman and was very generous and loving. She was in the nursing and caring field for at least 35 years. She also became a foster parent and opened her home up to children in need from 1980 to 1986.
She was an ordained minister, evangelist and missionary. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Cape Girardeau with Sister Fay Bumpas as pastor and a member of Greater Life Church in Kansas City with Craig L. Gates as pastor.
Most of all, Marian loved her family and the Lord. They were her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Marian is survived by her dear, loving son, Kenneth Ray Lewis of Kansas City; daughter, Sarah Lynn Walker of Kansas City; sister, Etta L. Ayers of Cape Girardeau, and her nine children; brother, Walter L. Holman of St. Louis, and his two children; sister, Joyce L. Thrower of Douglas, Georgia, and her four children and spouse; and brother, Nathaniel B. (Sue) Lewis of Oakville, Missouri, and his two children. Marian is also survived by her grandchildren, Kenneth Lewis Jr. and Corey Thomas, both of Cape Girardeau, Breanna Mullins of St. Louis, Austin Lewis of Kansas City and Jacob Walker, both of Kansas City, James Mowery Jr. of San Diego and Renee Hill and Reese Hill, both of Kansas City; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Lewis III, Xavier Thomas, Serenity Lewis, Hazel Lewis, Ezekiel Thomas, Leonidas Cangelosi and Francesca Cangelosi; her two best friends, Helen Howard and Mary Ann Dukes, both of Cape Girardeau; and her church friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nig Lewis; mother, Louella Lewis; brothers, Willie Lewis and James Lewis; a foster son, James Mowery Sr.; and brother-in-law, Jim Ayers.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Passantino Bros. Funeral Home in Kansas City and Ford and Sons Funeral Home.
