Wright, 79, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Carbondale, Ill., daughter of Richard and Alice Moss Stewart. She and Ernest T. Wright were married Oct. 21, 1937, in Carbondale. He preceded her in death.

Wright was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star of St. Mark's Lodge, and lifetime member of Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary Association.

She served on the auxiliary's board of directors many years, and in 1982 was chosen Auxilian of the Year by the Missouri Hospital Association. She received top recognition from Southeast Hospital for attaining more than 8,500 hours of volunteer service with Meals on Wheels, Mended Hearts, Auxiliary Craft House, and Hospice.

Survivors include a son, E. Tom Wright of Jackson; two daughters, Pat Vogelsang of Cape Girardeau, Mary Elizabeth Robert of Arnold; a brother, Willis Stewart of Cape Coral, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
