Marguerite Young

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marguerite N. "Pete" Young, 84, of Perryville died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at her home.

She was born May 19, 1923, in Perry County, daughter of Leo and Alice Alberta Hager Miget. She and Edward C. Young Jr. were married Aug. 25, 1945.

Young had worked in the office at International Shoe and was a retail clerk in the men's department at Rozier's. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Edward Young III of Chicago, Thomas Young of St. Louis, Robert and John Young of Perryville; four sisters, Leola Laws of Cape Girardeau, Velda Gagnepain, Ruby Meyer and Lily Meyer, all of Perryville; a brother, Leo Miget of Perryville; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The parish and Daughters of Isabella wake will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
