FROHNA, Mo. -- Marguerite M. Engert, 88, of Frohna died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Pocahontas, daughter of Roland and Marie Exler Starzinger. She and Milton Engert were married June 14, 1947. He preceded her in death May 25, 1991.

Marguerite was a former assistant cashier at Bank of Altenburg. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, LWML and Ladies Aid in Altenburg, and was a religion and Sunday schoolteacher at Immanuel Church approximately 50 years. She was a secretary/treasurer for the senior citizens group in Altenburg and an avid quilter.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce (Linda) Engert and Kevin Engert of Frohna; four grandchildren, Jacqulyn (David) Siekmann, Scott (Shelly) Engert, Amberly Engert and Sara Engert; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Eli Siekmann and Adalyn Engert.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Bernice Steiner; and a brother, Dillman Starzinger.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Jonathan Stites officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
