SIKESTON -- Marguerite Deason, 74, of Sikeston died Saturday, June 29, 1996, at her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of A.C. and Nora Bourland Owens. On Aug. 15, 1936, she married Claude Deason.
Deason was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ. She had been employed at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston and owned and operated the Blodgett Beauty Shop.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Dan Deason of Fort Scott, Kan.; three daughters, Shirley Martin and Barbara Arsta, both of Sikeston, and Janice Falkner of Tampa, Fla.; four half-brothers, Leroy Owens of Clarksdale, Miss., LaVerne Owens of Blytheville, Ark., Vance Owens of Memphis and Max Owens of North Carolina; three half-sisters, Mildred Ferguson of Little Rock, Ark., Ethel Lena Ziegler of Cabot, Ark., and Gracie Morris of Blytheville; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Johnny Hester officiating and Pat Hogan assisting. Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery.
