Margie Sue Dye, 87, of Wappapello, Mo., formerly of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Monticello House Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born April 22, 1926, in Kennett, Mo., to Will R. and Ella Baker Pelts. She and Arthur Raymond Dye were married July 19, 1947.
Margie and Raymond resided 35 years in Jackson. They moved to Wappapello in 2009.
Margie was a homemaker and liked to work outdoors. She especially enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include her husband of 66 years, Raymond of Wapappello; four children, Myra Dye of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Arthur Richard Dye of Wappapello, Alan Bruce (Terry) Dye of Collinsville, Ill., and Ella (Bill) Felty of O'Fallon, Mo.; five grandchildren, Adam Dye, Aaron (Shelly) Dye, Rachel Dye, Jonathan Dye and Daniel Felty; a great-granddaughter, Emilynn Dye; and a sister, Cleta Cash of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Betty Kean, Wayne Pelts and Jerris Beacham.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to time of service Thursday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Methodist Cemetery near Millersville.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Fairview United Methodist Cemetery.
