Margarita Philip

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- Margarita George Philip, 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Cyprus, daughter of the late George and Eleni Charalambous.

Margarita was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, in 1998.

She was a loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother. She was a gifted and talented cook.

Margarita is the beloved mother of George M. (Sandy) Philip of Albany, Harry M. (Rita) Philip of Jackson, Barbara M. Proestos of Scotia, N.Y., and Michael (Thecla) Philip of West Sand Lake, N.Y.; sister of Maroula, Neovi, Joann and the late Charles and Thespina. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday in Albany.
