BLOOMFIELD -- Margarette Evans, 75, of Bloomfield died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
She was born Jan. 10, 1921, at Clines Island, daughter of Arthur and Ethel Mossman Magee. She and James L. Evans were married in May 1938.
Evans was employed 31 years in the Stoddard County Recorder's Office and Probate Court. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer many years; was a member and past matron, secretary and treasurer of Bloomfield Chapter 385 Order of Eastern Star, and was a charter member of Bloomfield Saddle Club.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Janet Sisson of Vienna, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Greason officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery.
