JACKSON -- Margaret "Maggie" Smith, 90, of Jackson, died Monday, Jan. 23, 1995, at her home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1904, at Jackson, daughter of Henry and Mary Baugh Koehler. She and Dewey Smith were married Dec. 24, 1924, in Jackson. He died March 17, 1980.
Smith was a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell in Jackson for several years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality and MFA Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Leslie Smith of Jackson; two brothers, Lawrence Koehler of Jackson, Paul Koehler of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Hester Vinyard and Lorene Horrell of Jackson, Opal Scherer of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Church, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
