Margaret "Margie" Seyer, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at her home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Ray and Clara Glaus Stehr. She and Marcus "Pickle" Seyer were married Sept. 30, 1947, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. He died Sept. 3, 2004.
Seyer was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. Before her marriage, she was employed at W.W. Woolworth's Store as the fountain manager and at Montgomery Ward as a department head.
She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish, the St. Ann's Sodality and Western Catholic Union. For eight years she served as a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Seyer Reynolds and her husband, Bill, of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Nicole Forshee and her husband, Brendan, of Columbia, Mo., Gretchen Snowden and her husband, Robert, of Nixa, Mo., Blake Reynolds and his wife, Nicky, of Columbus, Ohio, Carmen Reynolds of Phoenix, Ariz., Mark Reynolds of Springfield, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Blaine Forshee, Claire Forshee and Lanie Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating.
Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family requests donations to St. Mary Cathedral.
