Margaret Louise Reed, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 4, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Sept. 6, 1904, at Fruitland, daughter of John Calvin and Effie Alexander Reed.
Reed was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, and did graduate work at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
She was a teacher from 1930-70 at Clippard and Franklin Elementary Schools. She was a member of the original committee for team teaching in Cape Public Schools.
Reed was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a Sunday School class, a women's circle, and was a past deacon and elder. She was a member of Southeast Hospital Auxiliary and Chapter JN of PEO.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Warren of McAllen, Texas, and Jessie Hamilton of Warner Robins, Ga.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Brandon Dempsey officiating.
Private burial will be held at Memorial Park prior to the service.
