PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Margaret M. "Margy" Meyer, 87, of Perryville died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Perryville, daughter of William and Irene Buehler Lurk. She and Herbert W. Meyer were married Oct. 18, 1947. He preceded her in death Nov. 15, 1982.
Mrs. Meyer had worked at Perry County Courthouse. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity, American Legion Auxiliary and St. Vincent Alumni. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two sons and five daughters, Joseph (Sue) Meyer of Fairfax, Va., Ann Warren and Jane (Delmar) Besand of Perryville, John (Kathy) Meyer of St. Louis, Marsha (Gary) Moll, Jean Ellen (David) Clements and Cari (Kirk) Buehler, all of Perryville; a sister, Jean Warnecke of Perryville; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, JoAnn Hayden.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. today, and the rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent School or American Heart Association.
