ADVANCE, Mo. -- Margaret Meier, 79, of Advance passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the family home in Advance.
She was born April 3, 1936, in Biggsville, Illinois, to Eugene and Margaret Stubs Beachum. Margaret married Clois Hicks in December 1954. He preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1976.
Margaret was a retired certified dietitian and worked at Colonial Estates in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a member of Cape First Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Scott (Kristi) Meier of Shawnee and Dan Hicks of Dexter, Missouri; a daughter, Karen (Joey) Boone of Quitman, Louisiana; four brothers, John Beachum, Don (Bonnie) Beachum, Harry (Marilyn) Beachum and Gene (Dorothy) Beachum; a sister, Doris Luttrell; 13 grandchildren, four of whom she raised as her own, Yukondra, April, Elvis and Ashlee; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dina K. Hicks; a brother, Ray Beachum; and a sister, Mary Jern.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
