Margaret Marie King, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 28, 1921, in Jackson, daughter of Martin H. and Mary L. Steimel Sievers. She and Floyd L. King were married Jan. 17, 1946. He passed away Nov. 3, 1971.
Margaret worked at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis during World War II, and at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, where she was active in the Adult Bible Study and a former member of Lydia Kies Circle. She was a member of Jackson VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 10495, and an avid gardener and quilter.
Loving survivors include two sons, James Lee (Vicki) King of Farmington, N.M., Jerry Wayne (Theresa) King of Jackson; a sister, Inez Knott of Jackson; two grandsons, Dennis (Carrie) King and Dustin King; a granddaughter, Jessica King; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Katelynn and Quianna King.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
