JACKSON -- Margaret E. Lang, 69, Jackson Route 6, died Thursday, April 1, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 16, 1924, at Jackson, daughter of Leo and Zola Masterson Nitsch. She and Byron Lang were married Dec. 27, 1950, in Cape Girardeau.

Lang taught school 14 years in Southeast Missouri. She and her husband owned and operated Byron L. Lang Trucking Co., and also farmed.

She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church more than 35 years, and a member of its Mary Martha Circle, United Methodist Women and Fellowship Sunday School Class. She served as treasurer of the Sunday School Department more than 30 years. She also was a 4-H leader more than 15 years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Roger Lang of Jackson, Lynn Lang, Gordonville Route 3; a brother, Milton Nitsch of Jackson; a sister, Doris Spout of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
