MARGARET BETHUNE

BERTRAND -- Margaret Bethune, 91, of Bertrand died Monday, July 13, 1998, at Bertrand Nursing Facility.

She was born Aug. 21, 1906, in Blodgett, daughter of George W. and Aura Bell Hubbard Russell. She and Cecil Lee "Dick" Bethune Sr. were married July 25, 1935. He died Sept. 11, 1981.

Bethune had worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston and at Bertrand Schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Cecil "Dick" Bethune of Charleston; three sisters, Sally Wilmurth of Bertrand, Dortha Bruce and Arleta Jacob of Sikeston; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Moreland officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
