SCOTT CITY -- Marcus V. Lauck, 85, of Springfield died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at Mercy Villa in Springfield.
He was born April 9, 1914, at Ancel, son of Vince and Frances Blattel Lauck. He and Effie Marie Cohoon were married Aug. 9, 1937. She died Sept. 18, 1988.
Lauck retired as owner/operator of Midway Truck Stop in Springfield, Ill. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and its Men's Club, member and former treasurer of Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810, and served on Chaffee City Council.
He moved to Springfield in 1996 from Chaffee.
Survivors include a son, Vincent Lauck of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Martha Wetekamp of Charleston, Ill.; a brother, Tony Lauck of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Augusta Simpher of Chaffee; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30, and Elks service at 8.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
