Marcus Griggs Sr.

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Marcus Edward Griggs Sr., 65, of Chaffee passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Earl, Ark., to the late Ludy Mason and Lorene Nipper Griggs. He married Glenda Goodman on Feb. 14, 2002.

Griggs was a self-employed small motor repairman.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Marcus Griggs Jr. and Scott Griggs of Scott City, Chris Griggs of Miner, Mo.; three stepsons, Steven Milz and Matthew Peters of Chaffee, Nathan Richards of Oran, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Christine Scherer of Chaffee; three brothers, Willard Griggs of Fredericktown, Mo., Jimmy Griggs of Silva, Mo., Joda Griggs of Chaffee; a sister, Susie Griggs of Alabama; five grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery near Whitewater.
