Marcellus Jones, 50, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his home.
He was born Jan. 7, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Selina Jones-Kearney.
Marcellus was a graduate of Rockbridge High School in Columbia, Missouri. He attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he played on the football team.
Marcellus worked as bar manager and mixologist at Buckner's in downtown Cape.
He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Kohlfeld Scorpions Rugby Club.
Survivors include his mother, Selina (Lorenzo) Jones-Kearney of Grandview, Missouri; two sons, Ryan Sides of Los Angeles and Dominique Jones of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter, Kaili Purrington of Jackson, Tennessee; and one brother, Marque Jones of Grandview.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Osage Centre. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
