Marcella Mary Kapfer, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.
She was born Monday, July 5, 1926, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to Edward "Shorty" and Coletta Glaus Glastetter. She and Arnold J Kapfer were married Monday, June 3, 1946, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg.
She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
She was a home maker and raised four children. She loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold; three sons, David (Cathy) Kapfer, Daniel (Deborah) Kapfer and Donald Kapfer; and a daughter, Jane (John) Blattner, all of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Gary (Carma) Glastetter of New Hamburg; a sister-in-law, Shirley Glastetter of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Heidi (Ryan) Sanders, Aaron (Erin Geiser) Kapfer, Rodger Blattner, Laura (Timothy) Schmitt and Nicholas (Jessica Blair) Kapfer; and five great-grandchildren, Emma and Nolan Sanders, Kyli and Adrien Kapfer and Caleb Schmitt.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Roy Glastetter; and a sister, Alice Ressel.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. There will be parish prayers at 6:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Joe Kelly officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Cathedral.
