Marvalee Hope “Marlee Girl” Dougherty, 22, of Thebes, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born Aug. 30, 2001, in Cape Girardeau to Kevin G. and Tamra Monahan Dougherty.
Marlee Girl brought light and joy to everyone’s life. She was always happy and greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. You became a better person if got to know Marlee. She was a member of McClure United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her mother and bonus dad, Tamra (Russell Schilling) Monahan-Schilling; brother, Dustin (Kristen) Easton; sister, Keri Jo Easton; grandparents, Jimmie Lee and Marvalee Monahan; grandmother, Honey Dougherty; Godparents, Neil and Helen Kefauver; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, Camryn, Jimmie, Jayce, and Elaina; special nurse of many years, Deanna.
She was preceded in death by her father; and grandfather, Charles Dougherty.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the funeral home with Dustin Easton and the Rev. Robert Smithey officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Family Room at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
