FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Mamie Eleanor Crandall passed away Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 79 years. She was born Feb. 3, 1923, in St. Francois County, Mo., daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Tripp Elders. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Ellis Asher; her second husband, Alfred Leroy Crandall Sr.; an infant daughter; two brothers, Fred and Paul Elders; and a sister, Linda Elders...

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Mamie Eleanor Crandall passed away Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 79 years.

She was born Feb. 3, 1923, in St. Francois County, Mo., daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Tripp Elders. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Ellis Asher; her second husband, Alfred Leroy Crandall Sr.; an infant daughter; two brothers, Fred and Paul Elders; and a sister, Linda Elders.

Before her retirement, Mamie was a cook at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center.

She is survived by a son, Alfred Crandall Jr. of Farmington; two daughters, Judy (Mrs. Leo) Mattingly of Bonne Terre, Mo., Marsha Asberry of Farmington; a sister, Marie Ratcliff of Desloge, Mo.; four brothers, Glenn Elders of Bushnell, Fla., Don Elders of Park Hills, Mo., Vernon Elders and wife Carlyn of Robertsville, Mo., and Dean Elders of St. Louis.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Chris Mattingly of Scott City, Mo., Jeff Asberry, Jessica (Mrs. Daniel) Cauley and Amanda Asberry, all of Farmington; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Mattingly of Jackson, Mo., and Trinity Cauley of Farmington. Two aunts, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Friends may call at Cozean Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002. A rosary will be said at 7.

Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m., with Father Bill Wigand officiating. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Leukemia Society of America or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
