Mamie B. Chatham, 96, of 2825 Bloomfield Road died Monday, May 5, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 27, 1900, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Henry and Matilda Heuer Brinkopf. She married Louis J. Roth on Nov. 21, 1921, and he preceded her in death in November 1949. She later married Tom Chatham in 1953, and he preceded her in death in 1968.
She had worked as a telephone operator at Southeast Missouri Telephone Co., was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Ladies Junior Aid and Trinity Guild.
She is survived by a son, John Roth of New Florence; a daughter, Jean Schack of Austin, Texas; a sister, Madeline Godwin of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. David V. Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
