JACKSON -- Funeral Mass for Majella A. Leuckel of Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. J. Friedel will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Perryville.
There is no visitation.
Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Leuckel, 83, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 4, 1913, at Ste. Genevieve, daughter of Joe and Bridgette Keifer Lurk. She and Phil Leuckel were married in April 1933. He died Aug. 1, 1970.
The Leuckels owned and operated Leuckel Funeral Home in Perryville, then in Van Buren, and later in Poplar Bluff. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1965 from Poplar Bluff, and then to Jackson earlier this year.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and its Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society, and the Cape Girardeau Garden Club.
Survivors include four sons, P.J. "Bud" Leuckel of Jackson, Gene "Smiley" Leuckel of Van Buren, David "Buster" Leuckel of Seattle, Wash., Scott Leuckel of St. Louis; a daughter, Mary Moore of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, John Lurk of Perryville; two sisters, Leona Schindler and Clara Guyot of Perryville; 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
