Maggie Cooksey BENTON -- Maggie Mae Cooksey, 84, of Benton died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born April 9, 1914, in Adamsville, Tenn., daughter of Moleetus and Lucindy Bernie Hughes. She and John G. Cooksey were married March 14, 1932, in Savannah, Tenn. He died Dec. 8, 1998...

BENTON -- Maggie Mae Cooksey, 84, of Benton died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born April 9, 1914, in Adamsville, Tenn., daughter of Moleetus and Lucindy Bernie Hughes. She and John G. Cooksey were married March 14, 1932, in Savannah, Tenn. He died Dec. 8, 1998.

Formerly of Sikeston, Cooksey was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Venita Duke of The Dalles, Ore.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

A joint funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jimmie Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
