SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mae Griffin, 80, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 13, 1926, in Tupelo, Miss., daughter of David Wesley and Virgie C. Whitaker. She and Grady H. Griffin were married May 10, 1947. He died Oct. 31, 1977.
Survivors include three daughters, Pat McDonald of Sikeston, Connie Borders of Cape Girardeau, Joyce Hart of Matthews, Mo.; two sons, Danny Griffin of East Prairie, Mo., Scott Griffin of New Madrid, Mo.; three brothers, John and Melvin Whitaker of St. Louis, Frank Whitaker of Villa Ridge, Mo.; three sisters, Margie Braun of Bismarck, Mo., Dorothy Atkins of Arnold, Mo., Sarah Switzer of Imperial, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Larry Griffin, Jeff Long and Gaylord Grindstaff officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
