The funeral for Madge Eris Pylate of Caruthersville, Mo., was held Sunday at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, Miss. The Rev. Barry Corbett officiated. Burial was in Parkway Cemetery at Kosciusko.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Pylate, 79, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
She was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Kosciusko, Miss., daughter of John Marvin and Lily Lorena Floyd Parker. She and John W. Pylate were married Aug. 18, 1940, in Kosciusko. He died Sept. 15, 2000.
Pylate attended schools in Kosciusko. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Stewart of Meridian, Miss., Madge Winstead of Bogart, Ga., Gayle Gorham of Jackson; two sons, John "Buster" Pylate III and Jerry Pylate of Caruthersville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
