DONGOLA, Ill. -- Madge Miller, 99, of Ullin, formerly of Dongola, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born April 23, 1904, daughter of William and Melissa Hill Toler. She and Russell Calvin were married in 1921.
Miller worked for eight years for a shoe factory. She also worked as a telephone operator at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Ill. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola and taught Sunday school for 50 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years.
Survivors include four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lucien Bozarth officiating. Burial will be in the American Legion Cemetery.
