Machele Denise Mossman, 53, of Jackson passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born June 14, 1964, in St. Louis to Robert G. and Patsy A. West Henderson. Machele married Wayne Leroy Mossman on June 19, 1982, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and he survives.

She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and was an RN for the last 34 years at Saint Francis Medical Center, working in labor and delivery the last 18 years. She was a member of AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses) and First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Loving survivors include her mother, Patsy Foust of Poplar Bluff; father, Robert G. Henderson of Dittmer, Missouri; husband, Wayne of 35 years of Jackson; son, Matthew Mossman of Austin, Texas; daughter, Alicia (Jason) McDonald of Jackson; brother, Tim (Tracey) Henderson of St. Jacob, Illinois; sisters, Jan (Wayne) Faries of Dittmer and Amy (Jason) Burton of Indiana; grandson, Gavin McDonald of Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaelyn McDonald.

Visitation was held Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Wappapello Cemetery in Wappapello, Missouri, with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation.
