MARBLE HILL -- Mable James, 79, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born at Marquand, June 26, 1912, daughter of John Jefferson Yount and Ethel Greer Yount.
On April 8, 1934, she married Roy D. James. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1968.
She was a member of the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church near Marble Hill.
She is survived by four sons, the Rev. Jim Dowd of Glen Allen, C. J. James, Oklahoma City, Okla., William D. James, St. Louis, and Bill James of Clarksville, Tenn.; three daughters, Colleen Cook, Audrey Hanners and Norma Kalal, all of Marble Hill; two brothers, Edgar Yount, St. Louis and Medford Yount of Fenton; five sisters, Beulah Robinson of Hornersville, Mo., Ruby Roberson of St. Louis, Donnie Farmer of St. Louis, Noami Mills, of Marquand, and Faye Shoemocker, of St. Louis; 34 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, with the Rev. C. E. Henson and the Rev. Diana Cook, officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery.
