MARQUAND, Mo. -- Mabel L. Henson, 85, of Marquand died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at her home.
She was born Sept. 21, 1926, at Marquand, daughter of James L. and Hilda E. Harmon Mills. She and the Rev. C.E. Henson were married Oct. 20, 1950. He died Aug. 18, 1995.
Mabel was a cook at several restaurants and nursing homes. She was an active member of Cape County Cowboy Church.
Survivors include three sons, the Revs. Darold and Harold Mills of Marquand, William E. Henson of St. Louis; four daughters, Marcia Russell of Patton, Mo., Margaret Million and Sandra Long of Marquand, Mary Lou Aubrey of St. Louis; two brothers, the Rev. George and Bill Mills of Marquand; five sisters, Esther Upchurch, Bonnie Wagner and Judy Webb of Marquand, Carol Stanfill of Farmington, Mo., Faye Slinkard of Fredericktown, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Delbert Mills; and a great-grandson, Dillion Karn.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jim Matthews and Diana Cook officiating. Burial will be in Union Light Cemetery near Patton.
