Mabel H. Guth, 91, of Jackson passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girar- deau, with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Farrar, Mo., daughter of Martin and Laura Fiehler Schlichting.
Mabel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, as well as Concordia Guild and LWML. She volunteered at the Lutheran Home and Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, and formerly taught Sunday school. She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, enjoyed gardening and playing cards with her friends at Saxony Village.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Margaret Pfeiffer of Jackson, Laverne (Jerry) Krauss of Perryville, Mo.; a son, Richard (fiancee Brenda Donald) Guth of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Tim (Jo) Pfeiffer, Melissa (Dan) Spiegel, Kirby (Gay Nell) Krauss, Kelly (Dayla) Krauss; two brothers, Vernon (Lucille) Schlichting and Barney Schlichting of Wittenberg, Mo.; three great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob Pfeiffer; a brother, Otto Schlichting; and a sister, Edna Lichtenegger.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.
Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
