MILLERSVILLE, Mo. -- Chester Lynn Hopkins, 66, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, from 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.
Funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home. The Rev. Nick Perry will officiate. Interment will be in Cook Cemetery at Scopus, Mo.
Mr. Hopkins was born Jan. 9, 1934, at Millersville, son of Chester V. and Dona Mayfield Hopkins. He and Ilinda Bollinger were married April 20, 1955. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Sue and Gerald Sorbello of Millersville, Rhonda and Micheal Nall of Jackson; a sister, Nelda Propst of Millersville; two brothers, Loral Hopkins and Albert Runnels of Jackson; three grandchildren, Robyn Lynne Nall of Jackson, Mindy Sue and Lyndsey Jo Sorbello of Millersville.
Lynn and Ilinda have been longtime residents and supporters of the Millersville community. Since 1955 they have owned and operated Bollinger Feed and Supply in Millersville. Lynn previously served as president of Public Water District 2 in Millersville, helped organize the Millersville Fire District and formerly served as assistant fire chief.
They have been longtime members of Millersville United Methodist Church, where Lynn served as church secretary.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Millersville United Methodist Church Building Fund or Cook Cemetery Memorial Fund.
