Funeral service for Lynn E. Crafton of Cape Girardeau will be held at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Crafton, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born July 30, 1911, at Oran, son of Jesse E. and Rhoda Crader Crafton. He and Anna Marie Wilhelm were married Jan. 8, 1938, at Scott City. She died Sept. 19, 1988.
Crafton was a graduate of Central High School. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and played basketball and baseball.
He owned and operated Crafton's Place 15 years and was day manager at the Elks Lodge, retiring in 1974. He also had worked in the dry cleaning business, at Ely Walker Co. in Scott City, and at Cape Bowling Lanes.
Crafton was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Elks Lodge. He played baseball with the Capahas, Cape Blues, Illmo Big Bucks; organized and managed Gordonville Grayhounds; and had managed a Little League team.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Brinkley and Lynn Westrich of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, five brothers, and two sisters.
