Lyle James Lambert, 92, of Jackson died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 5, 1918, at Illmo, son of Alfred Amsy and Nora Lena Etter Lambert. He married Jessie Pearl Tinsley on July 20, 1940, at Ancell, Mo. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2010.
The Lamberts had lived in Scott City, moved to Thebes, Ill., 50 years ago, and lived there until they moved to Jackson seven years ago. They were members of First Assembly of God in Scott City. After moving to Jackson they attended Freewill Baptist Church. Lyle was a crane operator at Lonestar Cement Plant in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include; a son, Jim (Anita) Lambert of Scott City; two daughters, Velma (Joe) Jackson of Thebes, Lisa (Danny) Seabaugh of Jackson; a brother, Alfred "Jr." Lambert of Scott City; three sisters, Juanita Carlton, Estella Wroblewski and Rose Walter, all of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Kim (Frank) Lawrence, Keith Jackson, Eric (Misti) Lambert, Kathy Cliff, Mandy Brooks, Michelle (Curtis) Cox, Matthew Brooks; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elaine Lambert; a brother; and two sisters.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Vernon Long officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery at Scott City.
