OLMSTED, Ill. -- Lydia Jewell Crecelius, 78, of Metropolis, Ill., formerly of Olmsted, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Metropolis.
She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Harrisburg, Ill., daughter of Oliver Clinton and Mahalia Emaline Baker Osborn. She and Raymond G. Crecelius were married Aug. 10, 1942. He died April 27, 1995.
Crecelius was a member and Sunday School teacher many years at Shiloh Baptist Church near Villa Ridge, Ill.
Survivors include a son, Raymond "Butch" Crecelius of Metropolis; two grandsons; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, and Saturday after 10:30 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery near Olmsted.
