SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Luther Gene Wilke, 75, of Sedgewickville died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at his home.
He was born Nov. 30, 1932, son of Aaron and Thelma Fulbright Wilke. He and Shirley Bangert were married June 1, 1957, She died Sept. 23, 1987. He then married Mona Goldsmith on June 28, 1989.
Wilke was a livestock farmer at Lixville, Mo., and sold his livestock at the Sedgewickville Sale Barn and Patton Sale Barn. He was a member of the Whitewater Presbyterian Church in Sedgewickville since 1957 and held numerous offices in the church, the Cape County Coon Hunters Association and the Castor River Coon Hunters Association.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Rachelle Koch of Perryville, Mo.; a sister, Pat Bollinger of Marble Hill, Mo.; a brother, Paul Dean Wilke of Millersville; and two stepgrandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Whitewater Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Donald Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
