SCOTT CITY -- Luther Earl Rhymer, 69, of Scott City died Tuesday, April 15, at his home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in McClure, Ill., son of James Rollie and Nancy Elizabeth Knupp Rhymer.
He married Hazel Lawson May 31, 1960, in Jackson.
He was a security guard with West Lake Quarry. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: his wife; one son, Wayne Rhymer of Scott City; four daughters, Diane Rose of Chaffee, Valerie Cattorn of Scott City, Donna Nesbit of Benton and Evelyn Hopper of Morley; one brother, Jesse Rhymer of Scott City; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, and from 9 a.m. to time of service Friday at the Eisleben Lutheran Church.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City with Rev. Joel Sarrault officiating.
Burial will be at Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery.
