SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Lura Lee Sandvos, Scott City Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Mark Carbaugh will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today.

Sandvos, 78, died Sunday, July 28, 1996, at her home.

She was born Dec. 4, 1917, at Illmo, daughter of Joseph and Marie Albrecht Sprenger. She and Albert Ernest Sandvos were married April 23, 1939. He died March 29, 1986.

Sandvos had been a cook at Scott City High School. She was a member of Christian Faith Fellowship in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Sandvos of Scott City, Jim Sandvos of Honea Path, S.C., Jerry Sandvos of Davie, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Sprenger of Cape Girardeau, Joseph Sprenger of Stuttgart, Ark.; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
