DEXTER, Mo. -- Lura M. Burris, 90, of Dexter died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Vintage Villa Nursing Center in Dexter.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1910, in Salem, Mo., daughter of Andy L. and Susie Evanna Smith Stewart.
She and Earnest Burris were married June 7, 1937. He died Oct. 16, 1972.
She had been a resident of Dexter for most of her life and was retired from Elders Manufacturing Co., where she had worked for 25 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter.
Survivors include a nephew whom she raised, Charles Petty of Essex, Mo.; four grandchildren, Brenda Cox of Bernie, Mo., Donna South, Robert Barrett and Larry Barrett, all of Dexter; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jerrold Lake officiating.
Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
