LURA FRIESE

ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Lura Friese of Anna will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro. The Rev. Alonzo Dale will officiate, with burial in Anna Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Sunday.

Friese, 94, died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at her home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1902, in Jonesboro, daughter of Lige and Anna Smoot Earnhart. She and Robert Smith were married Oct. 19, 1919, in Jonesboro. He died Jan. 3, 1946. She later married Leo Friese Jan. 23, 1947, in Vienna. He died in 1977.

Friese was a member of VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sisters, Isabelle Batson and Nora Tripp of Anna; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
