Lulu Angalee Wilkinson, 78, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 12, 1930, in New Hamburg, Mo., daughter of Stanley and Rhoda Ross Shumpert. She and Orville Wilkinson were married April 9, 1948.
Lulu was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitewater. She retired in 1993 after 50 years of employment at Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee, Mo.
Loving survivors include five brothers, David (Beverly) Shumpert of Calhan, Colo., Charles (Rose) Shumpert of Scopus, Mo., Ervin (Caroline) Shumpert of Qulin, Mo., Billy (Connie) Shumpert of Whitewater, Michael (Janet) Shumpert of Watseka, Ill.; two sisters, Evelyn Chong of Cape Girardeau, and Ruth Ann (Willard) Thiele of Delta.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Gladys; and a brother, William.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Shumpert officiating. Interment will follow in Proffer Cemetery near Crump.
