Lula Pickett
TAMMS, Ill. -- Lula G. Pickett, 82, of Tamms died Friday, June 27, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Elco, Ill., to Charles C. and Rana Walters Raby. She and James B. Pickett were married July 8, 1944.
Lula was a member of Elco Methodist Church.
Her kindness, generosity and love touched all who knew her.
Surviving is her loving husband of 63 years, James B.; three sons, James T. (Cathy) Pickett of St. Louis, Tony B. (Debbie) Pickett of Cape Girardeau and Thomas A. (Lorita) Pickett of Tamms. She lived to enjoy and love nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She is also survived by a brother, Don Raby of Elco; a sister, Esther Kemper of Eustis, Fla.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Jared Thomas Pickett; three brothers, Walter, Albert and Clarence Raby; and two sisters, Wanda Hartline and Ruth Raby.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Raby officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Cemetery Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
